Time flies when you're in rehearsals... :)

Well, it has officially been over a YEAR since I wrote my initial blog. So sorry that didn't really "take off" as I had hoped. It's a difficult thing... as I'm sure anyone who might actually read this can attest to... to find the time needed for things like blogging. Striking a balance between the commitment of a job, a show, and even the smallest of social calendars (which mine is... :) ) can leave very little for anything beyond grocery shopping and doing laundry.

That schedule is something that I crave, though. I had a conversation with my lovely friend Terra last night in the car on our way back from a show we're currently working on ("The Shape of Things") about just that. The consensus is that it can be exhausting to go straight from work to rehearsal or a show, get home late, and then get up early to do it all over again. I do my share of whining, believe me. But when I don't have it... I miss it so much. It's like being in a show has sort of become my life, and I'm used to interacting with other people in a rehearsal setting. I guess that's one way I know I still love it.

Anyway, this hasn't been an enlightening blog. I realize that. Ah well- just felt like sharing. :)

Introductions :)

Welcome!

I've decided- at the suggestion of a friend- that a blog would be a fun addition to the ever-growing internet megaplex that is joshwintersteen.com. :) Why?

Well, with its many bells and whistles (did you catch the incredible "data entry form" on the "Contact Josh" page???), the site is truly designed out of my own desire to connect. A blog provides another way to do that! Also, up until now, I've been struggling because I feel that the site has been lacking the sense of "personality" I believe I usually instill. Naturally, I've been looking for a way to change that. This- I think- could be it!!!

Because it is new, there are many directions in which we could take this thing, and though I'm not positive how this will all play out, I am optimistic that "the blog" will be great fun for all. However, as there always is in situations such as these- there's a certain amount of pressure behind this initial entry. This could essentially make or break the success of the blog, and in turn, have a major impact on the future of joshwintersteen.com! For that reason, please allow me to keep it simple:

My name is Josh Wintersteen.

Many things bring me joy.
The theatre is one of those things-
A very big one.

Check back soon and I'll tell you more. ;)
